Peggy jest szczęśliwa. Ma dom, kochającą się i ją rodzinę, szczególną sympatią darzy najstarszą dziewczynkę Chloe.
Pewnego razu Chloe wraz z Peggy odwiedzają przyjaciółkę Ellie, która ma królicę i jej niedawno narodzone młode. Dziewczynka od razu chce mieć jednego króliczka. Zbliżają się jej urodziny i rodzice wyrażają zgodę na nowe zwierzątko.
Peggy początkowo cieszy się na nowego domownika, jednak z czasem okazuje się, że Chocho, bo tak nazwano króliczka, pochłania mnóstwo czasu dziewczynki. Piesek jest zazdrosny, obawia się, że Chloe przestanie ją kochać. Suczka postanawia upodobnić się do króliczka, aby tym zwrócić uwagę przyjaciółki. Jednak czy to wystarczy?
„Mopsik, który chciał zostać…” to piękna seria o uczuciach, ale też o tym, że warto być sobą. Można się odnieść w niej do dziecka, które podobnie jak mopsik, przeżywa zmiany zachodzące w domu. Pojawienie się króliczka można skojarzyć z pojawieniem się młodszego rodzeństwa, gdy rodzice poświęcają maluchowi więcej czasu. Ile razy wtedy dzieci starają się zachowywać jak dzidziusie, żeby tylko zwrócić uwagę rodziców na swoją osobę.
Ciekawa, lekko napisana opowieść, którą czyta się jednym tchem.
